Bring your fishing poles and your enthusiasm for the Hagg Lake Fishing Tournament

Anglers of all experience levels are invited to gather at Hagg Lake for the third annual Hagg Lake Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 17.
Presented by Get Hooked and Washington County Parks, the event will feature awards, prizes and food carts.
The Get Hooked Foundation’s mission “is to provide education and inspiration to youth and families by submerging them into the world of outdoor recreation and sport fishing.”
The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a two-hour check-in period. Fishing begins at 8:15 a.m. and can take place anywhere on the lake, from the shore or from a boat.
Fishing ends at noon, at which judging will commence until 12:30 p.m. Awards and raffle winners will be announced beginning at 1 p.m., with prizes awarded based on the length of the fish caught. Fishers must be present during the announcements to win.
Prizes will be awarded to youngsters 12 and under, as well as adults, for catching trout, brown bullhead, bluegill, crappie and perch. Bass are excluded from the tournament.
The Hagg Lake C-Ramp, located at S.W. West Shore Drive in Gaston, will be the hub for meetings, vendors and awards. Food will be provided by Ochoa’s Mexican Food and Franko’s Hot Dogs.
